Old, Slow, Bad Facial Hair, NEW CONTRACT!!!
All of the above describe former Dodger Luis Gonzalez, Gonzo signed a two million dollar deal with the Marlins earlier today. Yup, the 40 year old who hit fifteen home runs and drove in sixty-eight will be paid to likely back-up Josh Willingham. Not a bad gig, looks like Gonzo is taking the Julio Franco approach on how to play baseball until he’s fifty. Good for Luis and thank goodness the Dodgers didn’t fall for the trap of bringing him back. The sight of Juan Pierre playing in the outfield another year is a sight in itself that I continue to have nightmares about.
